The first challenge was to make a card using Halloween colors.

I used Basic Grey Ambrosia paper for the butterfly and the dp strip.

There are platinum stickles on the "alluring butterfly" image for some shimmer.

The sentiment is from the Simply Said kit.
I picked up this ribbon today at Michael's...it is Martha Stewart and was marked down to .99!

The 2nd challenge was to create a card using something 'sweet' (image, phrase, etc.):

I used Delectable Delights for this card.
The 'chocolate' and 'strawberry' is glossy from a sakura glaze pen.
The 'vanilla' is shimmery from a sakura stardust pen.

Limelight Sketch Thursday!!

This week we want you to think Christmas (Hanukkah, holiday, etc.) colors, embellishments, and paper.
And, I have TWO card to share for this week's sketch!

Here's the sketch:

Can you feel it? Christmas is coming!

Step into any major store and you'll be amazed by the holiday lights, colors, and decorations.

Limelight Papercrafts is no different!

Your challenge this week is to create a card using something that reminds you of the holidays.
There are lots of great products at Limelight to use, but if you don't have anything from Limelight, just use what you do have!

OK, Here's the first card I did for this sketch:


I am so in love with the Basic Grey Wassail 6x6 pad! All of the paper on this card is from the Wassail pad.

I also used the BG Wassail buttons! I've never been big on buttons, but I saw that BG had Wassail buttons so decided to give them a try. I LOVE THEM!

I used a Crate Paper Blue Hill rub-on on the button.



The stamp is Catherine's Berry Wreath by Just Johanna's Odd Bird Planet.
It is stamped in Adirondak Espresso and the berries are covered with glitter from a Pink Paislee Pixee Stix in Strawberry.


Here's my 2nd card:


Again, more BG Wassail paper and buttons!!

I used the Stampendous Wreath Angel stamp...LOVE this stamp!
(Don't worry, there are more on order!)

I colored her with copics and used a clear spica all over for some shimmer.
Her wings are covered with white fun flock!



And, I stamped 'joy' on the button using Black Stazon.
The 'joy' is from the Pink Cat Studio Christmas Kitty set...which is on sale this week!

Joyful Trees

Here is my last card I did at the Gina K Land Cruise.
This was for GKDLCDB ~ 123 Challenge: 1 piece of ribbon, 2 layers (that’s only one plus your cardbase) and 3 embellishments of the same type.

These trees are from The Magic of Christmas by artist Rupa Shevde for Gina K. Designs.

The stars and garland on the trees are twinkling from a gold spica.

My 3 repetitive embellishments are rhinestones on the sentiment.

Whatever floats your boat...

This is another card from the Gina K Land Cruise...it was for GKDLCCK.

This cute little mouse is from the set: Whatever Floats Your Boat.

I added some crystal effects in the 'water.'

Framed Pumpkin

This was for a challenge for the Land Cruise over in the Gina K forum on SCS.

The frame around the pumpkin is chipboard.
I covered it with Martha Stewart Smokey Quartz glitter.

The pumpkin is stamped on Bella Rose and paper pieced with SU dsp.

And I finally used my new Bazzill templates to do some stitching in the lower left corner.

This has to be one of my favorite ribbons! I got it from Limelight Papercrafts...you can see it HERE.

Hip Hop Hangover Friday!

Yesterday was Hip Hop Thursday over in the Unity forum on SCS.

Happy Hip Hop Hangover Day!

This igloo is covered in microbeads and popped up.
The penguin and fish are also popped up.
And, there is crystal effects on the water hole!

I used primas in the tree for my flowers. The centers are pearls.

It's Ladies in the Limelight Thursday!!
Here we are...1/2 way through Oct and it's time for a sketch/product challenge!

This week we're calling for you to get out your hardware!
That's right, put down the glitter for one day and get out some metallic elements for "manly" cards! Don't boo at me (or Brandi, since this is her idea)! ;)

We want to see brads, eyelets, spiral clips, ribbon slides, metal frames, even paper, or maybe some duct tape stickers!

There are lots of great products at Limelight to use, but if you don't have anything from Limelight, just use what you do have!

**Sketch and Product Challenge with a focus on hardware for cards for men.
**Uploads to SCS should have the keyword: LLPC006
**Post a link to your card over on Mandy's Blog by Sunday night (Oct 19)to be entered in a random drawing to WIN duct tape stickers and a package each of the large black eyelet brads and the small gunmetal eyelet brads!

Here's what I came up with for the challenge:


I thought this would be so cute for a little boy!

I used Party Animals by Pink Cat Studio.
I did some paper piecing...stamped the duck on the Basic Grey Sugared paper and pieced the duck's hat and body and cupcake.



The strip with 'quack' is 'bowed' out some for dimension.

The panel of patterned paper on the right side of the card is Candles from the Basic Grey Cupcake collection.

My 'hardware' is a glazed brad from the Basic Grey Cupcake Glazed Brads in the middle with two white brads on either side.

Well, a wonderful lady at DH's work is participating in the walk, this is straight from her site:

Hello! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes on October 18th, along with one-half million other walkers across the country at various other walks, as we try to reach our goal of raising $100 million.

Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people a large and growing percentage of them children, one of them being my 6 year old Mattie (the picture shown here is of Mattie and me at the awards dinner in January 2008 after she had received her "Golden Sneaker" for raising over $2,500.00 for the 2007 walk).

There is some good news, though. For the first time, scientists are predicting that we CAN expect to see a cure well within our lifetime!

Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!

If you would like to help the children, like Mattie, at are afflicted with this disease then please click on donate or better yet join us Saturday, October 18th at Centinial Olympic Park. Either or both would really be appreciated.

And isn't this butterfly paper gorgeous!!!!
I almost hated to cut into it, but soooo glad I did.

I also used 4 black rhinestones for a little sparkle and bling.

I topped it off with some satin two-tone ribbon.

Charming Nested Flower

This is for WCMDTLC08 over on SCS.

I have never seen these nested flower before, much less tried to make one myself. I'm happy to report that it was fun and EASY!

I used cardstock, patterned paper and felt with my cuttlebug and punches:
