Limelight January Project

It's the 6th of the month so that means the Limelight Papercrafts 6 Chicks have a project to share!

The theme this month is a project that can be done WITH or
FOR kids.

I used THIS tutorial from SCS to make these cocoa holders.

I think these would make perfect treats for kiddos to hand out for Valentine's day, treats at birthday parties...etc.
They are simple to make, just a few folds...so if your kiddo is old enough, they can make these themselves!

I LOVE this Changito Cocoa stamp!
I stamped him in black and colored him in with Copics, Bic Mark Its and Sharpies.
And I embellished each winter hat with a hot pink rhinestone.

For the one with pink/aqua: The papers come from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie 6x6 pad.

And then for this one with the stripes/pink: The papers are from the NEW Basic Grey Bittersweet 6x6 pad.

Wanna Be In THE LIMELIGHT??

Straight from Mandy's blog:

How would YOU like to be in the Limelight??
We are now accepting applications for our third term of our design team! Applications are due by Saturday, January 17, and I will announce the new design team here on the blog and on the site on Monday, January 19.
We are only accepting design team members from the United States right now because we only ship within the United States.
Here are the deets...

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME AS A DESIGN TEAM MEMBER?
This is a three-month commitment, February 1, 2009 - April 30, 2009. Create at least the required number of cards, scrapbook pages, or projects per month using at least two products carried by Limelight Papercrafts. (The Limelight products should be the focus of your project.) Then, just post good-quality digital images to your blog and in online galleries, and talk up the store whenever and wherever you can! You would not need to send your creations to me, unless you just REALLY want to. You can use them for whatever you'd like.

There will be six total design team spots. I want to have fun with this, and the six ladies will be referred to as the "Six Chicks". Ever seen 13 Going on 30? If not, you NEED to! So cute! But I digress... The Six Chicks will be the driving force of the DT, and they will have the following obligations:
-1 "big" themed project per month. I will assign a themed project to be presented on the sixth of each month, and each DT member will create a project fitting the theme. For example, the themed project for February will be to create a Valentine's Day gift and matching card for a FRIEND.
-2 sketches per month. Yes, some months there will be three. But I would like each DT member to participate in the sketches.
-3 additional cards or projects per month.

There will also be a Monthly Guest Designer spot, which we've decided to call the "Seventh Six Chick." Now I know what you're thinking... That's mathematically impossible! (Sorry for all the 13 Going on 30 References... I do hope you've seen the movie and know what I'm talking about!) This person will participate in the sketches and the themed project only for the month they are chosen. I will choose monthly guest designer spots from applications received from this DT call (so don't lose heart if I don't pick you RIGHT NOW!!), blog/gallery discovery, and applications received after the deadline.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
The compensation is set at a $20 store credit per month, 25% off of store purchases over that, and I also may send you a product or two (for free!) as needed to use in some projects.

The Seventh Six Chick (our Monthly Designer) will receive an assortment of products as well as a 25% discount for the month in which they serve.

HOW DO I APPLY?
E-mail good-quality digital images of four cards or scrapbook pages, PLUS one gift or decor project that you consider to be your best work to mandy@limelightpapercrafts.com. Please put "Design Team" in the subject line. Also include in your e-mail a list of any other design teams on which you are currently serving or have served in the past, as well as one paragraph (or so) telling me why you would like to serve on the Limelight Papercrafts design team! Also include your blog address. One more thing... Tell me where you are located! :)
*If you would really prefer to send in your application and cards/projects through the mail, let me know, and I will let you know where to send them. I will not return any projects or applications sent to me.
*If you have already applied in the past, you do NOT need to send new cards/projects unless you would like to. Just send me an e-mail indicating your continued interest!

GOOD LUCK! Please feel free to post on your blogs or forums that I am holding this call! Post it wherever it's appropriate! :)

A Princess and A Castle

I have something super cute to share with you today!

I used this Fairy Castle Album from Limelight Papercrafts.

And here is what I came up with:

The pink and white paper you see from the front are from Bazzill.
I used Bling in the Pink and Bling Diamond. I used mod podge to adhere all papers.

The rub-ons you see on the front and throughout the book are Crate Paper's Sweet Branch.

I used lots of bling! A princess book must have sparkle!
I used silver and soft pink rhinestones.

And of course, lots of yummy ribbon!
3/8" reversible pink
3/8" striped pink
5/8" sheer brown dot
5/8" textured brown/gold
petunia tulle

The chipboard 'C' at the top is covered with Kaisercraft Sorbet Lime Fizz paper.

These next pages are covered with more of the Kaisercraft Sorbet Lime Fizz paper.
I used circle and scallop circle punches and chocolate chip paper.
You'll also see where I've left blank circles or rectangle for the Mom to write notes or dates, etc.

The paper on the left page is Kaisercraft Sorbet Mint Fudge.
More of the fabulous rub-ons!

This adorable Princess had her birthday party at an animal safari park so I had to go with that theme!
On the left page I used a sheet from the Basic Grey Sugared 6x6 pad, the one w the flamingos and giraffes.
I also used some brown/ivory fuzzy dot ribbon ~ it's soft like fur! LOL

Go check out the cute albums at Limelight Papercrafts!
There are several to choose from!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Recipe:
Papers ~ Bazzill: Bling in the Pink, Bling Diamond; Kaisercraft Sorbet: Lime Fizz, Mint Fudge, Basic Grey 6x6 Sugared, white, vanilla, chocolate chip

Accessories ~ caslte album, rhinestones, chipboard 'C', rub-ons, ribbons, mod podge

Birthday Monkeys!

How cute are these silly monkeys?!!!

This is Changito Amigos by Stampendous.
I colored them in with Copics and Bic Mark Its.

The sentiment and 'doodles' they are standing on are rub-ons: Crate Paper's Sweet Branch Rub-Ons.

And even though it's after Christmas, doesn't mean you have to put away your Basic Gray Wassail papers! A lot of the papers aren't limited to Christmas use!
The two backgroud papers are from the Basic Grey Wassail 6x6 pad.

I embellished with the brown/ivory fuzzy dot ribbon, brown/antique gold ribbon and the scrumptious chocolate pearls!
